The police have called the Assistant Superintendent and the Head of Department of the Chest Medicine wing of RG Kar Hospital to know why the family of the woman was informed that she committed suicide.

The father of the 31-year-old doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital got a phone call on Friday morning. The caller brief; his daughter committed suicide. When he went to the hospital he was told that his daughter’s naked torso was found in a seminar with half-worn clothes and marks of violence. That which as investigations later on pointed to was a brutal attack of rape and murder of the doctor, an act that has shocked the nation.
This woman’s father said to the media:
‘The Assistant Superintendent of chest medicine department called and said, ‘your daughter died by suicide’. And then we saw the reality when we reached the hospital’. The official did not introduce himself.
These remarks made by the father have caused people to accuse the management of the college of having tried to hush the situation when the woman doctor was found dead. From the probe, she said she had dinner on Thursday night with four other colleagues who were on the night shift. This is among the reasons that police are also questioning them, others being to solve the incident.

Sanjoy Roy an active civic volunteer who used to visit the hospital often, has been arrested and the police said in case more persons are involved they will be apprehended within the next four to five days.
Top Doctors Summoned
The woman, in question, mother has revealed to the media that even when they got to the hospital, they were denied access to the body. ‘I tried to get down on their knees to let me with my daughter’ But they didn’t ‘no one never knows what I have endured Nobody let us see her until 2:00 pm.’
The family members have said to the media that the victim spoke to her mother on the phone on that night and demanded her to take dinner. Here, a relative: “Next year was going to be her wedding.”
The family angrily declined the offer of receiving their daughter back, but requested that justice be done to her. The conclusion was total profanity; she went to serve the people and what did they do to her? She actually gave her life and she did not even get justice. We only want justice nothing more.
Principal Quits Over Funding, Gets New Job
The district and session judge asked for the role of authorities in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital who failed to act appropriately initially of the shocking incident. Principal Dr Sandip Ghosh resigned the previous night that he cannot bear the humiliation and further criticism in the social media platforms for remarks which he asserted were edited and twisted from his voice. Soon later, in a move that attracted severe condemnation, Dr Ghosh was appointed as the principal of another medical college in Kolkata, within four hours.
Opposition of students of the Calcutta National Medical College in the city has come in the form of asking the Principal how he can guarantee security on one campus when he did not do so on another. The students have also barricaded themselves at the door of the Principal’s office declaring that they would not allow the Principal to resume work.
‘Insider’ Involved?
The woman’s side has pointed fingers on the possibility of someone in the chest medicine department participating in the horrifying incident. ‘We want a probe against the whole chest department We think somebody inside the hospital is involved,’ the media was informed. ‘Can there be an absolute assurance it was supari murder?’ Reacted if his daughter had rivalry with someone in the department. ‘No, but everyone can be jealous.’
The family raised this suspicion when the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal met them.
Even there were nurse and security I am still fail to comprehend how did this incident happened. Yesterday, Ms Banerjee recalled that police told her that there was someone inside the building.
The state government has given the city police till Sunday to complete the investigation of this case if not then state government Has threatened to write to the CBI for a Central investigation in the matter.
