Places to explore in India on Independence Day

Since India marks its independence on the 15th August, it would be a good time to look into the country’s and its many diverse culture and traditions. Here are some great places to visit on this special day; the following are historical places to visit, natural attractions and so on.

Delhi

As is usual, the Red Fort in Delhi stands as the focal point for the country’s celebrations of the Independence Day. People flock the event where the Prime Minister hoist the national flag and gives a speech to mark the occasion. In addition to the fort, visit Raj Ghat, memorial of Mahatma Gandhi and India Gate, with the ceremonial display of patriotism during the evenings.

Mumbai

With its vivacious feel, Mumbai is an amalgamation of the old and the new, historical and modern structures. There are people swarming around shaking hands with each other and The Gateway of India, one of India’s most historic monuments. Take a walk to the famous Marine Drive, where you get a sobering view of the Arabian Sea or head to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, a World Heritage Site for its marvellous Gothic Structure.

Jaipur 

Regarding the Independence Day the Pink City looks its glorious best with lots of Royal flavour. The Amer Fort and City Palace present the glimpse of the Royale Rajasthan is allure. The pin features live folk music and dance, traditional Rajasthani cuisine and a visit to a local fair and parade.

Kolkata

Some of the events of the Independence Day are held in the cultural capital of India, that is Kolkata. The Royal Victoria Memorial hall with a British architectural design is usually used for these celebrations.
